Police got on their bikes to crack down on antisocial behavior in the Wishaw and Shotts areas.

Last Friday, local community officials were out patrolling off-road cycling areas that are unfortunately known for antisocial behavior, such as the Shotts Heritage Center, Carbarns and Cambusnethan Priory.

There have been several reports of unruly behavior, but officials are determined to keep track of any issues.

Inspector Alan Mulholland of the Wishaw Police Office said: Lanarkshire Live : “We have connected with the community council and other groups in Shotts regarding anti-social behavior in the heritage center.

“We have developed a plan with Local Partnerships to address the problem.

“Part of that will be deploying officers on off-road motorcycles and off-road motorcycles and taking robust action.

“The police were also contacted by locally elected members who had received complaints about incidents in Carbarrns.

“We will be using the bikes and off-road motorcycles again and will try to address drinking and drug use by minors.”
