Kawasaki announced the launch of the 2022 KX250 and KX450 off-road motorcycles in the Indian market. The KX250 will be available in a plain color option (Lime Green) and will cost Rs 7.99 lakh. The KX450 was also listed in a single color option (Lime Green) and is available for Rs 8.59 lakh (both ex-showroom, India).

Similar to their respective predecessors, the KX250 and KX450 are only designed for use on the racetrack and therefore do not have street-legal functions such as headlights, taillights, indicators and rear-view mirrors. The off-road design of both motorcycles includes wire-spoke wheels wrapped in studded tires, a raised exhaust, a tall front fender and a flat saddle. The bikes use an aluminum perimeter frame, petal-type disc brakes on both wheels, an upside-down front fork, a rear mono-shock, and a Renthal aluminum fatbar.

The mechanical specification of the KX250 includes a liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, 249 cc engine, while the KX450 uses a liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, 449 cc. While the power and torque figures aren’t available, Kawasaki claims the 2022 KX250’s 249cc engine is 1.3 horsepower more than the old model.
